Hidden Gems of Las Vegas

by admin on June 16, 2010

If you’re just itching to get on a private jet charter and spend a weekend away, Las Vegas is probably one of the best places you can get away to. There’s plenty to do and see beyond just gambling and 99 cent buffets, too. If you want to have a great time going off the beaten path, grab half a dozen of your best friends and get on a private het charter en route to Vegas and see these attractions:

  • · The Neon Museum Boneyard. This museum is three acres in size. Here you’ll find the final resting place for a number of the original Vegas Strip marquees. There are the old marquees for Caesar’s Palace, the Stardust and even the Golden Nugget.
  • · The Erotic Heritage Museum. This one is not for the faint of heart. This museum looks at the sex industry from the 1915 porno, A Free Ride on forward.
  • The Downtown Cocktail Room. If you can find it, this is one hidden gem you don’t want to miss. This bar has no external advertisings or markings, making it the one item on this list that is truly “hidden.” Here’s a hint: the entrance is inside a wedding chapel.
  • · The Tuscany. If you’re looking for no-limit tournaments, this is the place to go. Games start with a $25 buy-in. You’ll find a number of different poker games here, including Omaha High-Lo, Texas Hold ‘Em and the perennial favorite, Seven Card Stud.
  • · Beauty Bar. If Indie music is your thing, you need to be here. This bar has some of the best live indie music you’ll find in all of Vegas.
  • Dino’s. Just because you came into Vegas on a private jet charter doesn’t mean you don’t recognize the value of cheap beer and karaoke. Dino’s is the ultimate cheap beer and karaoke bar in all of Vegas.

You’ll be surprised what you might find if you spend a few minutes avoiding the big names on the Strip and checking out some of the smaller offerings that are off the beaten path. Las Vegas has plenty to offer, especially if you’re willing to take a little bit of extra time and find it.
